It was extremely stressful, sure, but it was a useful exchange. This is one of those sacrifices you need to be ready to handle.

Then I did it again. I flew to Asia for several months and blew up my savings. Then I went back and did it again. I had to become familiar with flying without a safety net and trusting that it would always work. As long-term travelers, we rely on hope and serendipity, so I’ve simply believed in myself enough to know I’ll be able to make something work when the going gets tough.

Every two years, I have to stop and resume a normal job and save money to keep moving, but once I left it all behind once, it became incredibly easy to quit my job and leave into the sunset the second and the third time .
